Welcome to the Schreiner University Athletics web page. The winter sports season has officially closed and the spring seasons are in full operation.  The non-traditional segments of some of our other sports programs are either underway or preparing to begin.  The links above will provide information that may be useful to you.

As Schreiner University grows, so does our athletics program. For the 2001-2002 academic year approximately 26% of our student population will participate in some facet of our intercollegiate athletics program.  As a result of this high participation rate, program expansion will be assessed.  Facility renovation and other construction projects are being planned as a part of the institutional comprehensive capital campaign. Solicitation of funds for these projects has begun.

Schreiner remains in transition to from the NAIA to the NCAA Division III but the transition is nearing completion.  While we still maintain affiliation with the NAIA for post-season playoff opportunities, we are in our final year of  provisional status in NCAA D-III.  It was confirmed at the annual NCAA convention in January that we will become full and active members of the NCAA in the fall of 2002, eligible for all American Southwest Conference and NCAA post season tournaments.

Whether you are an alumnus, a current or prospective student, a parent or other interested person check back with us to share in the accomplishments of our athletes and athletic programs.  We look forward to seeing our alumni at Homecoming this year.
