SB Beats TLU 3-1, Gains Split of Doubleheader
Schreiner
scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth
inning to break a scoreless tie in the first
game of a doubleheader and earned a 3-1 win.
Texas Lutheran jumped ahead in the second game
and held off SU's comeback attempt for a 5-3 win
and split of the doubleheader.
Sophomore Lyndsie
Travis allowed only one run and scattered four
hits while striking out three in seven innings
of work to gain the victory in the first game.
Sophomore Tara Gonzales had two hits to pace the
Mountaineer (3-10, 1-1 in ASC) offense.
In the second
game, TLU jumped out to a 3-0 lead, but
Schreiner tied the game with three runs of their
own in the fifth. TLU plated two
additional runs in the top of the sixth and that
margin stood up. Freshman Amanda Martinez
led the SU offense with two hits in the
nightcap.
