Don Green Hired
as New SU Softball Head Coach

The
Schreiner Athletic Department announced that
Don Green
has been hired as SU Softball's new head coach.
Don brings an extensive background in the sport of
softball to the SU program and campus. He was the
former head softball coach at both Lamar (CO) Community
College and Odessa (TX) College and started both
programs from scratch. His Lamar team found
success quickly and was ranked #6 in the nation in just
his (and the program's) second year. At Odessa, he
created a program that in now recognized as one of the
strongest in the nation. He will officially start
in the position on August 1, but will be working
throughout the summer on recruiting and contacting
current players. It was also announced that former
SU Softball player and alum,
Kristin Hall, has been
hired as assistant coach for 2006-07.
