UMHB Rallies in
Both Games to Sweep SU Softball
ASC
West-leading Mary Hardin-Baylor rallied in both
games of a doubleheader to sweep the
Mountaineers, 5-4 and 4-2.
In the first game, the visiting Mountaineers
(3-11 in ASC) jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the
third inning only to watch UMHB (10-0 in ASC)
rally with four runs in the bottom of the third
and hold on for a one run win. In the
close loss, junior Lyndsie Travis belted her
fifth home run of the year but it wasn't enough.
In the second game, both pitchers had no-hitters
going into the fourth inning, but UMHB scored
three times to take a lead it would relinquish.
Schreiner answered back with a pair of runs in
the sixth to cut the lead to 4-2 but didn't
score again. Junior Sarah Trevino drove in
both runs with her fifth homer of the season.
Senior Megan Eichman had five hits in the
doubleheader.
