Wallace brings over 30 years of collegiate volleyball coaching experience to Kerrville and the Schreiner program. Previously, he helped UTSA to a 162 -129 record including one conference championship in the Southland Conference. In his last season at UTSA, the team was 22-11 overall and lost in the championship match of the conference tournament. The win total was the highest in school history. During his tenure assisting head coach Laura Groff, the team was 84-53 in SC play.
Prior to arriving at UTSA, Wallace was the head women's volleyball coach at Creighton University from 1997-2002. From 1992-97, he was the associate head coach at one of the nation's premiere women's volleyball programs, the University of Hawaii. From 1990-92, he was an assistant at Hawaii before being promoted. He had another stint in Texas when he was an assistant coach at the University of Houston from 1985-88. He has extensive experience coaching at the club level for both the San Antonio Force and the Alamo Volleyball Club and has been instrumental in running volleyball camps throughout his tenure. Wallace earned his bachelor's degree in Anthropology at Washington State University and also earned his Master's degree in Educational Administration from the University of Hawaii in 1995.
Wallace is a native of Hawaii, and is married to Tommie who is also a native of Hawaii. They have two children, Kathryn - who graduated played volleyball for Schreiner while obtaining her Master’s in Education degree. She currently coaches volleyball and teaches Since at Churchill high school in San Antonio. They also have a son Eric – who recently graduated from Boerne high school and will be attending UTSA in the fall.
