High Ropes and High Hopes

(8/25/07) The
volleyball team headed out
to Mo Ranch on Saturday
afternoon, to experience the
challenges of the camp's
high ropes course. The
team's 15 players donned
harnesses and helmets and
tackled several of the
ranch's high elements.
"Teambuilding is important
for us this season," said
head coach John Wyatt
Greenlee. "We've got a
great team coming back from
last year, and a fantastic
group of new players as
well. The faster we
can bring the freshmen into
our family, the better our
chances this season."
"Our
time out here at the ropes
course is well spent.
The girls are learning about
overcoming their
self-imposed obstacles,
about helping each other
through tough situations,
and about trusting their
teammates. All of
these are lessons that will
serve us well as we head
into our season."
"Last year's team missed out
on making playoffs by one
match. We're
determined to not let it
come down to that this year.
We have the talent and the
drive, but we're still
learning the trust element.
So hopefully today's
activities will speed that
along."
The Mountaineers open their
season at home next Friday
against Our Lady of the
Lake. The match will
start at 7:00 pm.
