Schreiner Falls at Texas
Lutheran in Four Games
Texas
Lutheran proved that it is
still the team to beat in
the ASC West Division with a
3-1 win over visiting
Schreiner. It was the
ASC-opener for both teams.
TLU (4-2, 1-0 in ASC) ran
out to a 30-19 win in game
one. In the second
game, the two teams battled
down to the wire, but it was
Schreiner eventually gaining
the advantage to even the
match at one game each.
The score for game #2 was
30-27.
Game three saw TLU take
control with a 30-21 win.
In the final game, Schreiner
(3-4, 0-1 in ASC) kept the score close
but lost 30-25 to drop the
match, three games-to-one.
After sitting out last
weekend's four match
tournament appearance due to
stiffness in her back,
junior setter
Julie Peddy
returned to action.
She had 32 assists.
Tiffany Miller led the
Mountaineers in kills with
11.
Marissa Stearns
had 9 kills while
Caitlin
Gayle added 8.
Xandria
White had six block assists. |
