Mountaineers Pay Back Lady
Lobos with Sweep
Schreiner gained a small
measure of revenge with a
3-0 sweep at Sul Ross State.
In last year's regular
season finale, Sul Ross
State and Schreiner played
with the winner advancing to
the ASC Postseason
Tournament. Sul Ross
State, playing at home, came
away with the decisive win
that knocked the
Mountaineers out of the
playoffs. Friday
night, again in Alpine,
Schreiner won in straight
games but it wasn't easy.
SU (4-4, 1-1 in ASC) won by
game scores of 32-30, 30-25
and 32-30.
Xandria
White and
Caitlin
Gayle led the
offensive attack with 10
kills each for Schreiner.
Tiffany Miller
added 8 kills.
Julie Peddy
contributed 35 assists while
Misty Fletcher had 17 digs.
Surprisingly, Schreiner
which had a significant size
advantage over the much
smaller Lady Lobos, could
only manage a slight 7-6
edge in blocks. |
