Asst. Women's Basketball Coach


Monica Maxwell joins the Schreiner University Women’s Basketball program as assistant coach.  She has a rich playing background along with an already successful coaching career. Spending two years in the high school coaching realm at James Clemens High School in Huntsville, AL and her most recent stint as the Assistant Coach at Hoover High School in Birmingham, AL. She capped off this past year’s season at Hoover High School with a 29-7 record and winning the Alabama 7A State Championship.

Before starting her coaching career, she played one year of professional basketball for Rasta Vechta in Germany. She led her team to a League Championship, while earning MVP honors. She averaged 18.3 ppg and 6 rpg. 

Monica is no novice when it comes to success. She is a 4 year letter winner at Samford University, a Division I program that competes in the Southern Conference (SoCon). She helped lead her team to 86 wins and a WNIT appearance in her four years. She earned All-Conference honors her junior and senior year and made her mark in the record books, being in the top ten in 3 pointers made, points, blocks, and steals.
