Wade Morgan will begin his sixth season as head coach for Schreiner Tennis this fall. Since taking over both the men’s and women’s programs in 2011, Schreiner Tennis has improved each year. During his tenure, Schreiner Tennis has placed over 30 players on All-Conference Teams (in the ASC and the SCAC) The women’s tennis program made school history in 2012-13 with an 11-8 overall record and earned a berth in the conference tournament for the first time in Schreiner’s DIII era. The men also earned a post-season nod that year for the first time in six years. The success continued in 2013-14 as the Schreiner men earned the program’s first post-season win since 2005 in the SCAC Championships. The Schreiner women made history that year as well, finishing the season with a 13-9 record and a trip to the finals of the conference tournament. Not only was this the first tournament win for the program since 1999, but it was the first time that the women’s tennis team reached the conference finals. Morgan earned 2014 SCAC Women’s Tennis Coach of the Year award to cap off the record-setting season.  In 2015, both teams defeated regionally-ranked opponents and achieved winning records in SCAC play. With the women maintaining their ITA West Regional Ranking.  The success continued in the spring of 2016 with both programs earned winning records at the same time for the first time in Schreiner’s NCAA DIII era with the men achieving a record of 14-5, and the women finishing 11-9, both teams also defeated regional ranked opponents with the men earning a ranking briefly that year, 6 players received all conference honors that year. Off the court, Coach Morgan has taken a more active role on campus and now serves as a Residence Director for housing, as well as assisting with Student Athlete Advisory Committee duties and is also working with Compliance within the SU Athletic Department.

"We are very excited about having Wade Morgan lead our tennis programs.” said Ron Macosko, Schreiner University's Director of Athletics, in announcing Morgan’s hiring in 2011. Wade is very knowledgeable about NCAA Division III and has led a highly successful college and junior career culminating with multiple team championships at Hardin-Simmons. We have lofty goals for both of our programs and Wade knows first-hand, both as a player and coach, what it takes to be a team champion and will instill those attributes into both teams."

After a very successful junior tennis career, Morgan made an immediate impact at Hardin Simmons and helped the team to the 2005 ASC Championship. HSU went on to win 2 more consecutive American Southwest Conference Championships with the final one coming in 2007 along with the programs first NCAA Championship bid in their Division III era , Morgan was a key contributor to each of those teams, starting in the singles and doubles lineups. He earned All- ASC honors every year he was at Hardin Simmons and finished his career with an ITA West Region ranking of #20 in singles, and #2 in doubles. He was an ITA West Regional doubles finalist in 2007 as well.

Before coming to Kerrville, he served for one year as a volunteer assistant for HSU Tennis under current head coach Shane Williford. He earned his bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Political Science from HSU in 2008 and then earned a Master of Arts degree in Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation from Abilene Christian University in 2010.  Morgan completed his second Masters Degree, from Concordia University Irvine in Coaching and Athletic Administration in August 2014.
